Compress PDF

Reduce the file size of a PDF so it is small enough to email, upload to a form or share on WhatsApp. Pick a quality and resolution, see the size before and after, and download the smaller PDF. Compression happens in your browser, so private documents stay private.

Your files never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser: no uploads, no sign-up, no watermarks, works offline.

How to use Compress PDF

  1. Drop a PDF into the box, or tap “Choose a PDF file”.
  2. Pick a JPEG quality and a resolution (lower = smaller file).
  3. Press “Compress PDF” and compare the size before and after.
  4. Download the compressed PDF.

How it works

How does the compression work?

Each page is drawn as an image at the resolution you pick and saved as a JPEG at the quality you pick. The images are then put back together into a new PDF with the same page sizes.

Will my text still be selectable?

No. Because pages become images, text can no longer be selected or searched. This works best for scans and photo-heavy documents. Keep your original if you need selectable text.

What if the result is bigger?

Some PDFs are already well optimized. If the compressed version would be larger, neverupload tells you and gives you back the original.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. neverupload has no server that receives files. Everything happens inside your browser on your own device, and the files never leave it. You can even disconnect from the internet and the tool keeps working.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit the app is cached by your browser, so you can use it without a connection. You can also install it as an app from your browser menu.
